1Shout for joy to Elohim our strength; Raise a shout to the Elohim of Ya‛aqoḇ.
2Lift up a song and beat the tambourine, The pleasant lyre and with the harp.
3Blow the ram’s horn at the time of the New Moon, At the full moon, on our festival day.
4For this is a law for Yisra’ĕl, And a right-ruling of the Elohim of Ya‛aqoḇ.
5He appointed it in Yehosĕph for a witness, When He went throughout the land of Mitsrayim; I heard a language that I did not know.
6He says, “I removed his shoulder from the burden; His hands were freed from the baskets.
7“You called in distress, and I rescued you; I answered you in the covering of thunder; I proved you at the waters of Meriḇah. Selah.
8“Hear, O My people, and let Me warn you, O Yisra’ĕl, if you would listen to Me!
9“Let there be no strange mighty one among you, And do not bow down to a foreign mighty one.
10“I am יהוה your Elohim, Who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim; Open your mouth wide, and I fill it.
11“But My people did not listen to My voice, And Yisra’ĕl would not submit to Me.
12“So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, To walk in their own counsels.
13“O, if My people had listened to Me, Yisra’ĕl would walk in My ways,
14“I would subdue their enemies at once, And turn My hand against their adversaries!
15“Those who hate יהוה would cringe before Him; And their time of punishment be forever.
16“He would feed them with the finest of wheat; And with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.”
1Elohim stands in the congregation of Ěl; He judges in the midst of the elohim.
2How long would you judge perversely, And show partiality to the wrong? Selah.
3Give right-ruling to the poor and fatherless, Do right to the afflicted and needy.
4Rescue the poor and needy; Deliver them from the hand of the wrong.
5They do not know, nor do they understand, They walk about in darkness. All the foundations of the earth are shaken.
6I, I said, “You are elohim, And all of you are sons of the Most High.
7“But as men you die, And fall as one of the heads.”
8Arise, O Elohim, judge the earth, For You shall possess all the nations.
1O Elohim, do not remain silent! Do not be speechless, And do not be still, O Ěl!
2For look, Your enemies make an uproar, And those hating You have lifted up their head.
3They craftily plot against Your people, And conspire against Your treasured ones.
4They have said, “Come, And let us wipe them out as a nation, And let the name of Yisra’ĕl be remembered no more.”
5For they have conspired together with one heart; They have made a covenant against You –
6The tents of Eḏom and the Yishma‛ĕlites, Mo’aḇ and the Hag̅arites,
7Geḇal, and Ammon, and Amalĕq, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tsor,
8Ashshur also has joined with them, They have helped the children of Lot. Selah.
9Do to them as to Miḏyan, As to Sisera, As to Yaḇin at the wadi Qishon,
10Who perished at Ěndor, Who became as dung for the ground.
11Make their nobles like Orĕḇ and like Ze’ĕḇ, And all their princes like Zeḇaḥ and Tsalmunna,
12Who have said, “Let us take possession of the pastures of Elohim For ourselves.”
13O my Elohim, make them as whirling dust, As stubble before the wind!
14As a fire consumes a forest, And as a flame sets mountains on fire,
15So pursue them with Your whirlwind, And frighten them with Your storm.
16Fill their faces with shame, And let them seek Your Namea, O יהוה.
17Let them be ashamed and alarmed forever; And let them become abashed and perish,
18And let them know that You, Whose Name is יהוה, You alone are the Most High over all the earth.
1How lovely are Your dwelling places, O יהוה of hosts!
2My being has longed, and even fainted, For the courts of יהוה; My heart and my flesh cry out for the living Ěl.
3Even the sparrow has found a home, And the swallow a nest for herself, Where she has put her young ones – Your altars, O יהוה of hosts, My Sovereign and my Elohim.
4Blessed are those who dwell in Your house, They are ever praising You. Selah.
5Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Your Highways are in their heart.
6Passing through the valley of weeping, They make it a fountain; The Teacher also covers it with blessings.
7They go from strength to strength, Appearing before Elohim in Tsiyon.
8O יהוה Elohim of hosts, hear my prayer; Give ear, O Elohim of Ya‛aqoḇ! Selah.
9O Elohim, see our shield, And look upon the face of Your anointed.
10For a day in Your courts Is better than a thousand days. I have chosen rather to be a doorkeeper In the House of my Elohim, Than to dwell in the tents of the wrong.
11For יהוה Elohim is a sun and a shield; יהוה gives favour and esteem; He withholds no good matter From those who walk blamelessly.
12O יהוה of hosts, Blessed is the man who trusts in You!
1יהוה, You shall take pleasure in Your land; You shall turn back the captivity of Ya‛aqoḇ.
2You shall take away the crookedness of Your people; You shall cover all their sin. Selah.
3You shall withdraw all Your wrath; You shall turn from Your fierce displeasure.
4Turn back to us, O Elohim of our deliverance, And cause Your vexation toward us to cease.
5Would You be enraged with us forever? Would You draw out Your displeasure From generation to generation?
6Would You not revive us again, For Your people to rejoice in You?
7Show us Your kindness, O יהוה, And give us Your deliverance.
8Let me hear what Ěl יהוה speaks, For He speaks peace to His people And to His kind ones; And let them not turn again to folly.
9Truly, His deliverance is near to those who fear Him, For esteem to dwell in our land.
10Kindness and truth shall meet, Righteousness and peace shall kiss.
11Truth sprouts forth from the earth, And righteousness looks down from heaven,
12Indeed, יהוה gives what is good, And our land yields its increase.
13Righteousness goes before Him, And prepares a way for His footsteps.
1Better is a dry piece of bread and rest with it, Than a house filled with the offerings of strife.
2A wise servant rules over a son who causes shame, And shares an inheritance among the brothers.
3A refining pot is for silver and a furnace for gold, But יהוה tries the hearts.
4An evil-doer gives heed to wicked lips; A liar gives ear to a tongue of desire.
5He who mocks the poor reproaches his Maker; He who rejoices at calamity does not go unpunished.
6Children’s children are the crown of old men, And the adornment of children is their fathers.
7Excellent speech is not fitting for a fool, Much less lying lips for a noble.
8A bribe is a stone of favour in the eyes of its owner; Wherever he turns, he prospers.
9He who covers a transgression seeks love, But he who repeats a matter separates intimate friends.
10Reproof enters deeper into a wise man Than a hundred blows on a fool.
11An evil one seeks only rebellion, So a cruel messenger is sent against him.
12Let a bereaved bear meet a man, Rather than a fool in his folly.
13Whoever rewards evil for good, Evil does not leave his house.
14The beginning of strife is like releasing water; Therefore stop fighting before it breaks out.
15He who declares the wrong right, And he who condemns the righteous, Both of them are an abomination to יהוה.
16Why is this – a price in the hand Of a fool to buy wisdom, When there is no heart?
17A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.
18A man lacking heart shakes hands in a pledge, He becomes a guarantor for his friend.
19He who loves transgression loves strife, He who exalts his door seeks destruction.
20He who has a crooked heart finds no good, And he who has a perverse tongue falls into evil.
21He who brings forth a fool has sorrow for it, And the father of a fool has no joy.
22A rejoicing heart causes good healing, But a stricken spirit dries the bones.
23One who is wrong accepts a bribe behind the back To pervert the paths of right-ruling.
24Wisdom is before the face of the understanding one, But the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth.
25A foolish son is a grief to his father, And bitterness to her who bore him.
26It is also not good to punish the righteous one, To smite noble ones for straightness.
27He who has knowledge spares his words, And a man of understanding is cool of spirit.
28Even a fool keeping silence is regarded as wise, As understanding, when he closes his lips.
