1Show me favour, O Elohim, For man would swallow me up; Fighting all day long, he oppresses me.
2My enemies would swallow me up all day long, For many are fighting against me, O Most High.
3In the day I am afraid, I trust in You.
4In Elohim, whose Word I praise, In Elohim I have trusted; I do not fear; What could flesh do to me?
5All day long they twist my words; All their thoughts are against me for evil.
6They stir up strife, they hide, They watch my steps, As they lie in wait for my life.
7Because of wickedness, cast them out. Put down the peoples in displeasure, O Elohim!
8You have counted my wanderings; You put my tears into Your bottle; Are they not in Your book?
9My enemies turn back in the day I call; This I know, because Elohim is for me.
10In Elohim, whose Word I praise, In יהוה, whose Word I praise,
11In Elohim I have trusted; I do not fear; What could man do to me?
12On me, O Elohim, are Your vows; I render praises to You,
13For You have delivered my life from death, My feet from stumbling, That I might walk before Elohim, In the light of the living!
1Show me favour, O Elohim, show me favour! For in You my being is taking refuge; And in the shadow of Your wings I take refuge, Until destruction passes by.
2I cry out to the Most High Elohim, To Ěl who is perfecting all matters for me.
3He sends from the heavens and saves me; He reproaches the one who would swallow me up. Selah. Elohim sends forth His kindness and His truth.
4My being is in the midst of lions; I lie among those who breathe fire, Whose teeth are spears and arrows, And their tongue is a sharp sword.
5Be exalted, O Elohim, above the heavens; Let Your esteem be above all the earth.
6They have prepared a net for my footsteps; My being was bowed down; They have dug a pit before me; They fell into the midst of it! Selah.
7My heart is firm, O Elohim, My heart is firm; I sing and praise.
8Awake, my esteem! Awake, harp and lyre! I awake the dawn.
9I praise You among the peoples, O יהוה; I sing to You among the nations.
10For Your kindness is great up to the heavens, And Your truth unto the clouds.
11Be exalted above the heavens, O Elohim; Let Your esteem be above all the earth.
1Would you indeed speak righteousness, in silence? Do you judge straightly, you sons of men?
2No, in heart you work unrighteousness; On earth you weigh out the violence of your hands.
3The wrong have been estranged from the womb; These who speak lies go astray from birth.
4Their poison is like the poison of a snake; Like a deaf cobra that stops its ear,
5So as not to hear the voice of whisperers, Or a skilled caster of spells.
6O Elohim, break their teeth in their mouth! Break out the fangs of the young lions, O יהוה!
7Let them melt, let them vanish as water; Let Him aim His arrows that they be cut down;
8Like a snail which melts away as it moves, Like a woman’s stillbirth, Let them not see the sun!
9Before your pots feel the thorns, Whether green or ablaze, He sweeps them away.
10The righteous rejoices when he has seen the vengeance, He washes his feet in the blood of the wrong,
11And man says, “Truly, the righteous are rewarded; Truly, there is an Elohim judging in the earth.”
1Deliver me from my enemies, O my Elohim; Set me on high from those who rise up against me.
2Deliver me from the workers of wickedness, And save me from men of blood.
3For look, they have lain in wait for my life; Mighty men assemble against me, For no transgression or sin of mine, O יהוה,
4For no guilt of mine! They run and prepare themselves. Awake to help me, and see!
5And You, יהוה Elohim of hosts, Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, Awake to punish all the gentiles; Show no favour to any wicked traitors. Selah.
6They return at evening, They howl like a dog, And go around the city.
7See, they belch out with their mouth, Swords are in their lips, For who is listening?
8But You, יהוה, laughs at them, You mock all the gentiles.
9O my Strength, I wait for You; For Elohim is my strong tower, My Elohim of kindness.
10Elohim does go before me, He lets me look upon my enemies.
11Do not slay them, lest my people forget; Scatter them by Your power, And bring them down, O יהוה our shield.
12The sin of their mouth is the words of their lips, And they are captured in their pride, And for the cursing and lying they utter.
13Bring them to an end in wrath, Bring them to an end, That they be no more; And let them know That Elohim is ruling in Ya‛aqoḇ To the ends of the earth. Selah.
14And at evening they return, They howl like a dog, And go around the city.
15They wander up and down for food, And whine if they are not satisfied.
16And I, I sing of Your power; And in the morning I sing aloud of Your kindness; For You have been my strong tower And a refuge in the day of my distress.
17O my Strength, to You I sing praises; For Elohim is my strong tower, My Elohim of kindness.
1O Elohim, You have rejected us; You have broken us; You have been displeased; Turn back to us!
2You have made the earth tremble; You have broken it; Heal its breaches, for it is shaken.
3You have let Your people see hardship; You have made us drink the wine of trembling.
4You have given a banner to those who fear You, That it might be lifted up Because of the truth. Selah.
5That those You love might be rescued, Save with Your right hand and answer me.
6Elohim has spoken in His set-apartness, “I exult, I portion out Sheḵem And measure out the Valley of Sukkoth.
7“Gil‛aḏ is Mine and Menashsheh is Mine, And Ephrayim is the defence of My head, Yehuḏah is My lawgiver.
8“Mo’aḇ is My wash-pot, Over Eḏom I cast My shoe, Shout loud, O Philistia, because of Me.”
9Who would bring me to the strong city? Who shall lead me to Eḏom?
10Have not You, O Elohim, rejected us? And You do not go out, O Elohim, With our armies!
11Give us help from distress, For the help of man is naught.
12In Elohim we do mightily, And He treads down our adversaries!
1Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, But he who hates reproof is stupid.
2The good obtains favour from יהוה, But the man of wicked devices He declares wrong.
3A man is not established by wrongness, But the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
4A capable wife is the crown of her husband, But one causing shame is like rottenness in his bones.
5The thoughts of the righteous are right-ruling, The counsels of the wrong are deceit.
6The words of the wrong are, “Lie in wait for blood,” But the mouth of the straight delivers them.
7The wrong are overthrown, And are no more, But the house of the righteous stands.
8A man is praised according to his wisdom, But the perverted of heart becomes despised.
9Better to be lightly esteemed and have a servant, Than the highly esteemed who lacks bread.
10The righteous regards the life of his beast, But the compassion of the wrong is cruelty.
11He who tills his land is satisfied with bread, But he who pursues vanities is lacking heart.
12The wrong shall covet the catch of evil-doers, But the root of the righteous yields fruit.
13In the transgression of the lips is an evil snare, But the righteous gets out of distress.
14From the fruit of his mouth one is filled with good, And the work of a man’s hands is given back to him.
15The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But he who listens to advice is wise.
16A fool’s wrath is known at once, But a clever one covers shame.
17He who speaks truth declares righteousness, But a false witness, deceit.
18Rash speaking is like piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise is healing.
19The lip of truth is established forever, But a lying tongue is but for a moment.
20Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil, But counsellors of peace have joy.
21No harm befalls the righteous, But the wrong shall be filled with evil.
22Lying lips are an abomination to יהוה, But those who deal truly are His delight.
23A clever man is concealing knowledge, But the heart of fools proclaims folly.
24The hand of the hard worker rules, But the lazy is put to compulsory labour.
25Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes him glad.
26The righteous is a guide to his neighbour, But the way of the wrong leads them astray.
27The lazy one has no game to roast, But the hard worker prizes his possessions.
28In the way of righteousness is life, And in its pathway there is no death.
