1Elohim is our refuge and strength, A help in distress, soon found.
2Therefore we do not fear, Though the earth reels And mountains topple into the heart of the seas.
3Let its waters rage, foam; Let mountains shake with its swelling. Selah.
4A river whose streams Make glad the city of Elohim, The set-apart dwelling of the Most High.
5Elohim is in her midst, she does not topple; Elohim does help her when morning turns.
6The gentiles shall rage, Reigns shall topple; He shall give forth His voice, The earth melts.
7יהוה of hosts is with us; The Elohim of Ya‛aqoḇ is our refuge. Selah.
8Come, see the works of יהוה, The ruins He has wrought on the earth,
9Causing all fighting to cease, Unto the end of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; He burns the chariot with fire.
10Be still, and know that I am Elohim; I am exalted among nations, I am exalted in the earth!
11יהוה of hosts is with us; The Elohim of Ya‛aqoḇ is our refuge. Selah.
1Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to Elohim with a voice of singing!
2For יהוה Most High is awesome; A great Sovereign over all the earth.
3He subdues peoples under us, And nations under our feet.
4He chooses our inheritance for us, The excellence of Ya‛aqoḇ whom He loves. Selah.
5Elohim shall go up with a shout, יהוה with the sound of a ram’s horn.
6Sing praises to Elohim, sing praises! Sing praises to our Sovereign, sing praises!
7For Elohim is Sovereign of all the earth; Sing praises with understanding.
8Elohim shall reign over the nations; Elohim shall sit on His set-apart throne.
9Nobles of peoples shall be gathered together, The people of the Elohim of Aḇraham. For the shields of the earth belong to Elohim; He shall be greatly exalted.
1Great is יהוה, and greatly to be praised In the city of our Elohim, His set-apart mountain.
2Pretty on high, The joy of all the earth, Is Mount Tsiyon on the sides of the north, The city of the great Sovereign.
3Elohim is in her citadels; He is known as her refuge.
4For look, the sovereigns met, They passed by together.
5They saw, so they marvelled; They were alarmed, they hastened away.
6Trembling took hold of them there, Pain, as of a woman in labour,
7With an east wind You break the ships of Tarshish.
8As we have heard, so we have seen In the city of יהוה of hosts, In the city of our Elohim, Elohim establishes her forever. Selah.
9We have thought, O Elohim, of Your kindness, In the midst of Your Hĕḵal.
10According to Your Name, O Elohim, So is Your praise to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is filled with righteousness.
11Let Mount Tsiyon rejoice, Let the daughters of Yehuḏah exult, Because of Your right-rulings.
12Walk about Tsiyon, And go all around her. Count her towers;
13Set your heart upon her rampart; Go through her citadels; So that you report it to the coming generation.
14For this Elohim is our Elohim, Forever and ever; He Himself leads us, Even to death.
1Hear this, all you peoples; Give ear, all you inhabitants of the world,
2Both sons of mankind and sons of man, Rich and poor together.
3My mouth speaks wisdom, And the meditation of my heart brings understanding.
4I incline my ear to a parable; I expound my riddle on the lyre.
5Why should I fear in the days of evil, When the crookedness of my supplanters surrounds me?
6Those who are trusting in their riches And who are boasting in their great wealth?
7A brother does not redeem anyone at all, Neither give to Elohim a ransom for him;
8For the redemption of their lives is costly, And it shall cease forever;
9That he should still live forever, And not see the Pit.
10For he sees wise men die, The foolish and the ignorant both perish, And shall leave their wealth to others.
11Their graves are their houses, forever; Their dwelling places, to all generations; They call their lands after their own names.
12But man does not remain in esteem, He is like the beasts that perish.
13This way of theirs is folly to them, Yet their followers are pleased with their words. Selah.
14Like sheep they shall be laid in the grave; Death shall shepherd them; And the upright rule over them in the morning; And their form is consumed in the grave, Far from their dwelling.
15But Elohim does redeem my being From the power of the grave, For He does receive me. Selah.
16Do not be afraid when a man becomes rich, When the wealth of his house increases;
17For when he dies he takes none of it; His wealth does not go down after him.
18Though while he lived he blessed himself, And though they praise you when you do well for yourself,
19He has to go to the generation of his fathers; They never see the light.
20Man, who is rich, Yet does not understand, Shall be like the beasts, They shall perish.
1Ěl Elohim יהוה shall speak, And He shall call the earth From the rising of the sun to its going down.
2From Tsiyon, the perfection of loveliness, Elohim shall shine forth.
3Our Elohim comes, and is not silent – A fire consumes before Him, And it shall be very stormy all around Him.
4He calls to the heavens from above, And to the earth, to rightly rule His people:
5“Gather My kind ones together to Me, Those who have made a covenant with Me by slaughtering.”
6Then the heavens declared His righteousness, For Elohim Himself is Judge. Selah.
7“Hear, O My people, and I speak, O Yisra’ĕl, and I witness against you: I am Elohim, your Elohim!
8“I do not reprove you for your slaughterings, And your burnt offerings are continually before Me.
9“I do not take a bull from your house, Nor goats out of your pens.
10“For every beast of the forest is Mine, The cattle on a thousand hills.
11“I know all the birds of the mountains, And all moving in My field are Mine.
12“If I were hungry, I would not speak to you; For the world is Mine, and all that fills it.
13“Do I eat the flesh of bulls, Or drink the blood of goats?
14“Offer thanksgiving to Elohim, And pay your vows to the Most High.
15“And call upon Me in the day of distress – Let Me rescue you, and you esteem Me.”
16But to the wrong Elohim said, “What right have you to recite My laws, Or take My covenant in your mouth,
17“While you hated instruction And cast My Words behind you?
18“When you saw a thief, you were pleased with him, And you take part with adulterers.
19“You let your mouth loose to evil, And your tongue frames deceit.
20“You sit, speak against your brother; You slander your own mother’s son.
21“You have done this, and I kept silent; You have thought that I was altogether like you – I rebuke you, and set it in order before your eyes.
22“Understand this please, you who forget Eloah, Lest I tear you in pieces, With no one to deliver:
23“Whoever offers praise esteems Me; And to him who prepares a way, I show the deliverance of Elohim.”
1Proverbs of Shelomoh: A wise son makes a father rejoice, But a foolish son is his mother’s sorrow.
2Treasures of wrongness are of no value, But righteousness delivers from death.
3יהוה does not let the being of the righteous go hungry, But He thrusts away the desire of the wrong.
4Poor is he who works with a lazy hand, But the hand of the hard worker makes rich.
5He who gathers in summer is a wise son, He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.
6Blessings are on the head of the righteous, But violence covers the mouth of the wrong.
7The remembrance of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wrong ones rot.
8The wise in heart accepts commandsa, But one with foolish lips falls.
9He who walks in integrity walks safely, But he who perverts his ways becomes known.
10He who winks with the eye causes sorrow, And one with foolish lips falls.
11The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, But violence covers the mouth of the wrong.
12Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all transgressions.
13Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has understanding, But a rod is for the back of him who lacks heart.
14The wise treasure up knowledge, But the mouth of a fool is near ruin.
15The rich man’s wealth is his strong city; The ruin of the poor is their poverty.
16The wage of the righteous is for life, The increase of the wrong is for sin.
17He who heeds discipline is in the way of life, But he who refuses reproof goes astray.
18He who hides hatred has lying lips, And he who sends out a slander is a fool.
19When words are many, Transgression is not absent, But he who restrains his lips is wise.
20The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; The heart of the wrong is of little value.
21The lips of the righteous shepherd many, But fools die for lack of heart.
22The blessing of יהוה makes one rich, And He adds no pain with it.
23To work out wicked schemes Is like sport to a fool, But wisdom is for a man of understanding.
24What the wrong one fears comes upon him, But the desire of the righteous is granted.
25As the whirlwind passes by, The wrong one is no more, But the righteous has an everlasting foundation.
26As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, So is the lazy one to those who send him.
27The fear of יהוה prolongs days, But the years of the wrong ones are shortened.
28The righteous look forward to joy, But the expectancy of the wrong ones perish.
29The way of יהוה is a stronghold for the perfect, But ruin to the workers of wickedness.
30The righteous is never shaken, While the wrong shall not dwell in the earth.
31The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, But the tongue of perverseness is cut out.
32The lips of the righteous know what is pleasing, But the mouth of the wrong speaks perverseness.
