1Blessed is the man who shall not walk in the counsel of the wrong, And shall not stand in the path of sinners, And shall not sit in the seat of scoffers,
2But his delight is in the Torah of יהוה, And he meditates in His Torah day and night.
3For he shall be as a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That yields its fruit in its season, And whose leaf does not wither, And whatever he does prospers.
4The wrong are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind blows away.
5Therefore the wrong shall not rise in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6For יהוה knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the wrong comes to naught.
1Why do the gentiles rage, And the peoples meditate emptiness?
2The sovereigns of the earth take their stand, And the rulers take counsel together, Against יהוה and against His Messiah, and say,
3“Let us tear apart Their bonds, And throw away Their ropes from us.”
4He who is sitting in the heavens laughs, יהוה mocks at them.
5Then He speaks to them in His wrath, And troubles them in His rage, saying,
6“But I, I have set My Sovereign on Tsiyon, My set-apart mountain.”
7“I inscribe for a law: יהוה has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have brought You forth.
8‘Ask of Me, and I make the gentiles Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth Your possession.
9‘Break them with a rod of iron, Dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ”
10And now, be wise, O sovereigns; Be instructed, you rulers of the earth.
11Serve יהוה with fear, And rejoice with trembling.
12Kiss the Son, lest He be enraged, And you perish in the way, For soon His wrath is to be kindled. Blessed are all those taking refuge in Him.
1O יהוה, how my adversaries have increased! Many rising up against me.
2Many are saying of me, “There is no deliverance for him in Elohim.” Selah.
3But You, O יהוה, are a shield for me, My esteem, and the One lifting up my head.
4I cried to יהוה with my voice, And He heard me from His set-apart mountain. Selah.
5I, I laid down and slept; I awoke, for יהוה sustained me.
6I am not afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around.
7Arise, O יהוה; Save me, O my Elohim! Because You have smitten all my enemies on the cheek; You have broken the teeth of the wrong.
8Deliverance belongs to יהוה. Your blessing is on Your people. Selah.
1Answer me when I call, O Elohim of my righteousness! You gave relief to me when I was in distress; Show favour to me, and hear my prayer.
2Till when, O you sons of men, Would you turn my esteem to shame, Would you love emptiness, seek falsehood? Selah.
3But know that יהוה has separated a kind one for Himself; יהוה hears when I call to Him.
4Tremble, and do not sin. Speak within your heart on your bed, and be still. Selah.
5Offer slaughterings of righteousness, And trust in יהוה.
6Many are saying, “Who would show us good?” יהוה, lift up the light of Your face upon us.
7You have put more gladness in my heart, Than in the season that their grain and wine increased.
8I lie down in peace altogether, and sleep; For You alone, O יהוה, make me dwell in safety.
1Give ear to my words, O יהוה, Consider my meditation.
2Attend to the voice of my cry, My Sovereign and my Elohim, For unto You I pray.
3O יהוה, in the morning You hear my voice; I present myself to You in the morning, And I look up.
4For You are not an Ěl taking delight in wrong, Nor does evil dwell with You.
5The boasters do not stand before Your eyes; You hate all workers of wickedness.
6You destroy those speaking falsehood; יהוה loathes a man of blood and deceit.
7But I, I enter Your house In the greatness of Your kindness; I bow myself toward Your set-apart Hĕḵal in Your fear.
😯 יהוה, lead me in Your righteousness because of those watching me; Make Your way straight before my face.
9For there is no stability in their mouth; Their inward part is destruction; Their throat is an open grave; They flatter with their tongue.
10Declare them guilty, O Elohim! Let them fall by their own counsels; Thrust them away for their many transgressions, Because they have rebelled against You.
11But let all who take refuge in You rejoice; Let them ever shout for joy, because You shelter them; And let those who love Your Name exult in You.
12For You bless the righteous, O יהוה; You surround him with favour as with a shield.
1The proverbs of Shelomoh son of Dawiḏ, sovereign of Yisra’ĕl:
2For knowing wisdom and discipline, For understanding the words of understanding,
3For receiving the discipline of wisdom, Righteousness, right-ruling, and straightness;
4For giving insight to the simple, Knowledge and discretion to the young.
5The wise one hears and increases learning, And the understanding one gets wise counsel,
6For understanding a proverb and a figure, The words of the wise and their riddles.
7The fear of יהוה is the beginning of knowledgea; Fools despise wisdom and discipline.
8My son, heed the discipline of your father, And do not forsake the Torah of your mother;
9For they are a fair wreath on your head, And chains about your neck.
10My son, if sinners entice you, do not give in.
11If they say, “Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood, Let us ambush the innocent without cause.
12“Let us swallow them alive like the grave, And entirely, like those going down to the pit.
13“Let us find all precious goods, Let us fill our houses with spoil.
14“Cast in your lot among us, Let us all have one purse,”
15My son, do not walk in the way with them, Keep your foot from their path;
16For their feet run to evil, And they hurry to shed blood.
17For in vain the net is spread In the sight of any bird.
18But they lie in wait for their own blood, They ambush their own lives.
19Such are the ways of everyone greedy for gain; It takes away the life of its owners.
20Wisdom calls aloud outside; She raises her voice in the broad places.
21At the head of the noisy streets she cries out, At the openings of the gates, In the city she speaks her words:
22“How long, you simple ones, Would you love simplicity, And shall scoffers delight in their scoffing, And fools hate knowledge?
23“Turn at my reproof. See, I pour out my spirit on you, I make my words known to youa.
24“Because I called and you refused, I have stretched out my hand and no one inclined,
25“And you spurned all my counsel, And would not yield to my reproof,
26“Let me also laugh at your calamity, Mock when your dread comes,
27“When your dread comes like a storm, And your calamity comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you.
28“Let them then call on me, but I answer not; Let them seek me, but not find me.
29“Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of יהוה,
30“They did not accept my counsel, They despised all my reproof,
31“Therefore let them eat the fruit of their own way, And be filled with their own counsels.
32“For the turning away of the simple slays them, And the complacency of fools destroys them.
33“But whoever listens to me dwells safely, And is at ease from the dread of evil.”
